Well...

Haven't thrown anything on here in a while, but there has been some progress recently. Here's a couple of pieces that I have done that I am not completely ashamed of
Tried to really get a full piece down while doing some digital stuff. This is what happens when I work on something for a couple of days.
 Quick color study. 2 hours

back at ringling

So now that I'm back and working harder than ever, I've realized that there has been a slight change in how I'm trying to grasp figures in general. I've recently been more inclined towards pen and ink in comparison to graphite. These recent figures are mostly done in pen and feel different in comparison to my others. Still, I'm hoping that I will continue to improve.

So recently I've been getting into these blind contour drawings and they have been a lot of fun to try out. There will be a lot more of these in the future.

more figures!

So today I went to the mall and enjoyed the fact that I had my sketchbook. This was a good way of practicing figures which still is not my strongest skill. Anyways, these are all quick 30 second to 10 minute figures done in my small sketchbook. Along with a small observational perspective piece.

figures....

More work with this tablet. I spent about an hour an a half working on this figure which began to look more like a child than anything. I need more practice.

Tablet fun!

Now that I have this new beautiful tablet, I've decided to seriously dig into the world of digital painting and see if I can get better at it. Obviously at this stage I can't really say that I completely grasp any true aspect of how the thing works, but it could be considered progress. Maybe eventually I'll look back at this and laugh at it. Anyways, this was about an hours worth of experimenting with how to do environments with color, textures, and a figure. Eventually there will be a complete piece but for now, this is just a speed practice piece.

winter break begins

Well I've finally decided to work on getting one of these things started, and I'm starting it with some sketches that i've done recently in my spare time. One of my main troubles that I have noticed during my time at Ringling is that I have trouble with figures and gestures. So what I'm going to do is attempt to fill up some sketchbooks with nothing but figures and gestures in order to improve. this is what I have so far
